Defence in a defenceless world

The continuous rise of crime in our beautiful country is disconcerting. What’s even more disconcerting is that much of these crimes are directed at women and children. Of course, the South African criminal is inherently a coward so targeting individuals whom he perceives as weaker than him makes sense. But, due to the dire crime situation, attitudes are changing and people are drawing a line and taking a stand against crime, something it would seem that our government is incapable of doing.

But how do you defend yourself in a defenceless world? Of course, there are many options but you would have to choose between lethal and non-lethal. If it were up to us, we would choose a lethal option simply because the criminal will have no such compunctions. He will kill you if given the chance for as little as R10 in your wallet and a cell phone in your pocket. If human life means that little to some people then carrying a lethal option to defend yourself in an armed robbery situation seems like the better idea.

Many people believe we have restricted gun control laws and, here at Guns for Life, we agree but it’s certainly not as restrictive that it prevents the law abiding citizens of obtaining firearms. The Firearm Control Act of 2000 requires potential gun owners to complete large amounts of paperwork, complete many tests and receive adequate firearm training. Receiving training on firearms gives the law abiding citizen an edge regarding self-defence in an armed robbery situation. Many criminals are clueless about maintaining and caring for their firearms and that gives you a distinct advantage.

Crime in our country has reached epidemic proportions. But that’s no reason to despair. All that’s important is that you, the law abiding citizen, finds a way to protect yourself. Every time we leave our homes we run the risk of being assaulted or murdered so it’s only logical to want a method of self-defence in an armed robbery situation. Having a firearm in those direst of moments can spell the difference between life and death.

Which one are you prepared to life without: guns or genocide??
